Share a Mac hard drive with Firewire

On 05/07/2012, in How To, by Norman Dean

Want to access a hard drive on another mac without pulling the hard drive out or connecting to a network?

Get a Firewire cable and hook up both Macs.

One will be a master the other will be a slave. Have master computer booted and logged in, have the slave turned off.

Press the power button on the slave and hold the T key until you see the Firewire logo on the screen.

The slave computers hard drive will soon appear on the desktop as an external drive on the master computers desktop.

You can now move files to and from the slave computers hard drive and even write images and install OSX remotly.

Neeto huh?
